Howdy, folks! We’re back with another cookbook update. If you haven’t heard, I’m publishing a teatime cookbook of literary recipes with Skyhorse Publishing, and I’m wildly excited about it. Last month I gave a quick rundown of what we had put together, and today I’m going to be updating you guys on our progress. So here we go! ^.^
Cookbook News
- I’m on to the editing stage! At the time of my last update, I was working on the last round of recipe testing, making sure everything was just right. That’s pretty much done now (just a few loose ends to tie up), so I’m currently editing the manuscript and pictures. Here’s a taste of some of the photos you’ll see in the book:
- We’re adding more teas! Originally the plan was to have 5 teas, but later on I had the idea of having one tea for every book featured in the cookbook. I ran the idea by my editor, and she gave me the green light! Now there will be 22 awesome teas, including ones inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia, Winnie the Pooh, and The Hobbit.
- We have a cover! I shared a potential cover photo in my last post, and my editor recently sent me a sample of the front cover! I love it soooo much, you guys. It turned out even better than I pictured in my head. Here it is (!!!):
AHHHH!!! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT, YOU GUYS!
I love seeing all the pieces come together. It’s starting to look like a real book now!
More updates as things progress! 😀
I LOVE THE COVER. And the photos are fantastic! 😀
Thanks!
Oh, I sent you an email through the form on your site a week or two ago. Did you get it? If not, I can resend it.
I don’t think so… Try again, and let me know by replying here so I can check for it. If that doesn’t work again, I’ll shoot you a message on Goodreads. Is that OK?
Just sent it! Yeah, go ahead and contact me on Goodreads if it doesn’t go through. Maybe it’s a connection issue on my end? My internet’s been a little weird lately.
Got it! 😉 I don’t have much time to respond to it tonight, but I’ll send you an answer as soon as I can.
[…] sleeping well, we’re back to a regular schedule, and I’m in the final stretch of cookbook editing. So with the help of audiobook magic, I was FINALLY able to finish The Man in the Iron Mask and […]
This is so exciting! I can’t wait until this is out! The world needs this cookbook. ^ ^

Awww, thank you! It’s nice to do posts like this to flail over the exciting parts, because crunch time has definitely descended (my manuscript is due in mid October—EEK!). Sharing updates with you guys keeps me motivated and also keeps me from stressing out too much. 🙂
P.S. If you’d be interested in doing a review of it when it’s published, I can be sure to get you an ARC when they’re available!
I’d love love LOVE to review it! 😀
Awesome! I’ll let my editor know. Thank you so much! 🙂
No worries. I make a bunch of your recipes! I just made the poppodums and the curry Wedneday night. Loved them! I found a scrumptious dip to go with the poppodums. ^ ^
Oooo! Can you send it to me? I’ve been wanting to make them again, and a dip alongside would be perfect.
Here you go! https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1691/poppadums-with-lime-and-coriander-dip The dip is really tangy and flavorful!
Awesome! Thank you. Gonna pin it for the next time I make poppadoms!
This looks perfect! Congratulations! I hope the finishing touches go well!
Thank you so much! When I submitted my manuscript, I was like “And now I can finally focus on keeping up with my blog…like replying to comments!”. Lol which as you can see is going swimmingly. I used to have a nice system for keeping up with things, but I had to set it aside for the final round of cookbook edits. Hopefully I’ll be back in the habit soon!
